The Public Security Directorate/Narcotics Control Department, in cooperation with the Jordan Silos and Supply General Company and the Government Investment Management Company, held an awareness course on “The Dangers of the Drug Pest and Confronting It” with the participation of a number of female employees from the Silos Company and the Investment Management Company within the “Drug Control Administration Agents” program.
This awareness plan, which is implemented by the Public Security Directorate for the year 2023, was presented by Captain Ammar Al-Rawajeh, representative of the Drug Control Department in the Public Security Directorate, to educate working women about the dangers of the drug scourge and its negative effects on society, and the role of the Drug Control Department in spreading community awareness to citizens of the harms resulting from it, and the mechanism for treating this. Al-Rawajeh also explained to the participants the forms of narcotic substances and their psychological, material and physical harm to the individual, family and society, and the importance of family cooperation to prevent the spread of the drug scourge as an embodiment of societal responsibility in preserving the citizen, stressing the pivotal role of women in family and community awareness as they are an essential factor in building the family and have an effective role. Al-Rawajeh pointed out that the Drug Control Administration treats drug addiction free of charge and confidentially, taking into account the psychological and social aspects of the treatment recipients.
His Excellency the Director General of the Jordanian General Company for Silos and Supply, Engineer Emad ALTarawneh, appreciated the efforts made by the Public Security Directorate, represented by the Narcotics Control Department, and for holding such important awareness sessions to combat the drug scourge and protect all members of society from it, so that they can be elements of resistance in society.
