The company's general manager, M. Imad Al-Tarawneh said that the company achieved a great renaissance during the reign of His Majesty King Abdullah II, in terms of increasing storage capacities and developing unloading devices and supply chains for wheat and barley, as the maximum cumulative storage capacities increased from 450 thousand tons to 750 thousand tons per year, which contributed to strengthening the system. Food security in Jordan and maintaining the strategic stock of strategic basic commodities, especially wheat, as expansion projects are among the most important strategic projects in the Kingdom to complete and build the silo system to enhance the storage capacity owned by the company.
He pointed out that the new silos that were established in the port of Aqaba with a capacity of 200 thousand tons and the ship unloading dock, which are considered among the best grain ports in the Middle East, were achieved by increasing the speed of unloading, as the capacity to unload grain reaches 800 tons/hour per device, which was reflected in It has a positive effect on the duration of the complete unloading of the ship from 10-12 days to 4-5 days, as this reduces the costs to the state treasury.
In addition to increasing the storage capacities in the Juwaida complex by 120,000 tons and the Rusayfa silos by 100,000 tons, which helped increase the strategic stock and enabled Jordan to provide a safe strategic stock of wheat and barley.
The company has future projects to increase storage capacities in the North Complex by about 100,000 tons and establish an integrated catering complex in the South region with a capacity of 100,000 tons, in addition to refrigerated refrigerators and specialized warehouses to be the storage arm for the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply’s imports of wheat and barley.
